This would explain why I had't seen them either I just havent been playing these empire types lol thanks for the heads up.

Huh, I'm pretty sure I've seen Kai-Sha, Ulastar and Q'La pop-up with default looks. Although looking into mod folder I do see artwork for them within mod.

I wonder if it's something with load order

 

Update: yep, just run into Vass and she is still using vanilla. Latest version of Director's Cut while running just Dynamic UI, LV and Directors Cut with Traights and Rights packs

Looks like I wasn't aware of a change to the FIOS rules, actually. I think this even helps me figure out why the solarpunk species wasn't showing up. I've pushed out a fix and I've also added Zosira to the list of paragons.

on latest version of game i got crashes after loading a save game and i hear a leader get a trait, i dont know exactly whats causing it but i think maybe this since error logs mention lv_species_traits_bio_any.txt which only exists in lustful void or this for me. Since it covers the last bunch of error log i assume thats the issue but idk, appreciate any help

I spent 20 min reading that log. I can't do it anymore. Jesus fuck. Well, first of all loading game saves from older versions of the game is already trouble. Im not going to assume anything is busted unless its on a clean save. Secondly, you might want to verify your vanilla game files. Delete your mods and do a clean instal. Duplicate "Leader_class_governor" is not an error I expected to see. Alot if you mods look out if date, considering how they are unable to locate vannila particle effects. You might simply have too many mods. Only thing Ill say is I saw my mod wasnt playing nice with VF elves. But that isnt causing your crash.

it wasnt an older version though, i started a new game like 3 times for this issue and yeah i will do as you suggest though. thanks and sorry for the trouble

I just want to mention that I too have been having issues with crashing when I click on the Ruler Traits with Stable Elves as the race and your Directors Cut mod but not with your basic version of your mod. Because of that I thought it was because of your Directors Cut mod that was causing the problem but after reading the post above I tried playing the game without Stable Elves and using your Directors Cut mod and it worked fine.

 

So, at least for me, it seams the problem is that Stable Elves has an issue with your Directors Cut mod.

 

Just wanted to mention this. Hope It clears everything up. For me, I'll not be using Stable Elves as your Directors Cut mod is much better then some half naked elves ?

i mean i dont even have stable elves on strangely enough? Man I hate stellaris updating and demolishing everything though.

Since I believe VF is an older mod than mine, I don't mind letting Mugg have the "elf_female" class name and I'll just change mine to something else. Doing this will also fix the conflict with Stable Elves. Ill add it to the todo list when I get off work.

I don't think that's quite the issue, since I don't use elf_female as the class name in Stable Elves.  I went with StableElf for the class name since I wanted it to use a more unique name so there would be less likelihood of other mods colliding with me on a class name.

 

To be frank I haven't tried experimenting with mods that alter traits and have simply been playing what is essentially normal stellaris but with custom portraits.  I also wasn't really versed with putting together the all of the code when I was defining my species.  I copied what I saw in vanilla framework when doing the clerical work for my mod, so if there is an error in VF that it was probably copied by me for Stable Elves.

 

I don't have time to deeply troubleshoot it, but I think a quick glance over my files makes it look like I made a pants-on-head mistake of defining a new "StableElf" archetype that inherits from BIOLOGICAL, but then I never actually use the archetype and instead simply define the StableElf class to use the BIOLOGICAL archetype.  That's kind of silly of me, but I guess that's what I get for blindly copying someone else's homework in that regard.

 

Do you think that perhaps it could be a load order issue?  How does that work with traits?  Where a species gets loaded and is defined to inherit stuff from biological, but then another mod in the mod list redefines what those biological traits are?

I know I'm taking a real fucking long time to bring back the prescripted empires, but one of them will have this slick new Origin(No spoilers) that I've been working on. It's quite the undertaking as I'm just an artist and this much code monkey work isn't my forte. hopefully I don't create too many bugs... I'm gonna make a fucking bug apocalypse this time round. I'm sorry my loyal beta testers. Your suffering is long and I offer such inadequate reward for your service. Forgive me.

But I do want to share for those who read the VN, that yes, she is going to be in the game. Complete with this alternate "snow queen" outfit she'll get for completing her questline. Goddamn, it'll be just like all of my japanese vidja games.

I've promised myself that once the Origin and Vivienne are complete I'll pull the trigger on releasing and update, but I still have plans to do 1 more "code writing heavy" prescripted empire later down the road. No TBA, but I'm just so excited and wanted to share what I've been up to. I've also done so much fucking under the hood work, it's not funny. Literally hours finally fixing all the broken SFX portrait code. Goddamn that shit was so long overdue. I can't wait to get it over with.

The directors cut is supposed to replace the portraits right? It doesn't work, I mean it doesn't replace anything, it just adds a single new robot portrait. Even when I just use it and lustful void alone it still doesn't work. The other one that just adds the portraits works though.

hey just stopping by to say I just updated to the newest version of the directors cut and now when accessing portraits in the empire creator, images for Machine option 2 and Mammalian option 1 are all invisible. I went through all the alternative portraits as well.  Not sure if this is just on my end but I have no other portrait mods so I don't think that could be the problem.

Same for me, I had to change the text files manually and transfer some files from the portrait pack for them to show up again, there doesn't seem to be any problems on my end so I dunno why they were removed :P

It is, kinda. There are a couple of small bugs but it works in 3.8.  I didn't update the post because I don't feel that it's feature complete when it's missing replacers for like 10 paragons. I'll go ahead and update the page when I post my next content update, though.

I've fixed things on my end, but I'll just include it in my next big update. Sorry everyone, it takes me like 20 minutes to upload my mod on my internet speed, so It's kind of not worth patching if it doesnt create a crash.

My new mystery origin is slowly getting there. I currently have x7 event pics completed out of the x13 total. So I'm over halfway there! Coding and Story Writing is all donzo, it's just the art that's holding me back. I'm, honestly, super tempted to just make a bunch of placeholder artwork, just so I can post it, BUT I'm trying my best to wait until I can serve it up in all of it's glory. Bear with me, brothers. I too am being robbed of it's existence and I am resolved to labor until it is done.

Two portraits are missing.

 

I apologize for the bad language - I use an online translator.

Missing "jackal" and "robot".

"Robot" missing due to another reference in the file "0b_portraits_robot" - an error option on the left, a working one on the right (previous version).

"Jackal" is completely absent from the game now (you can copy the file from the previous version), given the post from June 14-15, it will probably be reworked in the near future.

Check out the post from June 25.

Need to file "default.txt " (the path to calcifires_portrait_pack_DIRECTORS_CUT/ prescripted_countries) enter the missing definition (highlighted in the screenshot stolen from that post). Without this, the system cannot determine the initial type of ruler and crashes (presumably).
